Community Foundation Canada, Vital Signs:
Vital Signs is an annual community check-up conducted by community foundations across Canada that measures the vitality of our cities, identifies significant trends, and assigns grades in at least ten areas critical to quality of life.

Quality of Life in B.C.’s Capital Region:
In 1999 the Community Council of B.C.’s Capital Region published a base line set of indicators in their initial report. In 2005, using the next available census data, the second report was published.

Quality of Life/Societal Indicator Projects:
This Canadian Policy Research Network (CPRN) report, written in 2000, presents the results of a survey of 21 quality of life/societal indicators projects. The projects are for the most part well known examples of quality of life and societal indicator initiatives. Fourteen of the projects involved citizens.
